1987年畢業(yè)于浙江大學(xué)地質(zhì)系,1994年獲巴黎第七大學(xué)博士學(xué)位,1994-1995年倫敦大學(xué)Royal Holloway學(xué)院地質(zhì)系博士后。之后回國工作,歷任中國科學(xué)院廣州地球化學(xué)研究所副研究員、研究員、副所長、所長;同位素地球化學(xué)國家重點(diǎn)實(shí)驗(yàn)室主任?,F(xiàn)任中國科學(xué)院廣州地球化學(xué)研究所深地過程與戰(zhàn)略礦產(chǎn)資源全國重點(diǎn)實(shí)驗(yàn)室研究員。先后當(dāng)選中國科學(xué)院院士(2017)、美國地質(zhì)學(xué)會(GSA)會士(2018)、美國地球物理聯(lián)合會(AGU)會士(2021)、國際地球化學(xué)學(xué)會/歐洲地球化學(xué)協(xié)會(GS/EAG)會士(2022)。

主要從事地幔巖石學(xué)、地球化學(xué)和深部動力學(xué)研究。先后主持了國家973項(xiàng)目、基金委創(chuàng)新群體和國家杰出青年基金項(xiàng)目、中科院B類先導(dǎo)專項(xiàng)、廣東省基礎(chǔ)與應(yīng)用基礎(chǔ)研究重大項(xiàng)目等,在華北克拉通破壞、峨眉山大火成巖省和地幔柱、東亞大地幔楔以及嫦娥5號和6號月壤研究等方面取得創(chuàng)新認(rèn)識。擔(dān)任國家基金委重大研究計(jì)劃“地球宜居性的深部驅(qū)動機(jī)制”專家組組長、重大研究計(jì)劃“西太平洋多圈層作用”專家組副組長。已發(fā)表論文近400余篇,其中SCI論文350余篇,主編Lithos和Episodes專集四部;Google Scholar引用33800余次,H-index 95,入選World’s Top 2% Scientists 2020和中國Top200榜單,連續(xù)11年入選Elsevier高被引中國學(xué)者名錄。以第一完成人獲國家自然科學(xué)獎二等獎(2011, 2020)、廣東省科學(xué)技術(shù)一等獎(2006, 2014)、廣東省科學(xué)技術(shù)突出貢獻(xiàn)獎(2023)、李四光地質(zhì)科學(xué)獎(2013)等。一項(xiàng)成果入選2024年度“中國科學(xué)十大進(jìn)展”以及兩院院士評選“2024年中國十大科技進(jìn)展新聞”。
